Proabably Should Have Made 3 Separate Posts

While speaking at a children’s hospital yesterday, Cindy McCain stated that Barrack Obama has “waged the dirtiest campaign in American history.”  She said she looked forward to seeing her husband clear the record at the debate, and-

Whoa, whoa, whoa, BACK THE TRUCK UP.  Obama is the one waging the dirty campaign?

Regardless of political leanings, I think we can all pause for a minute to fully absorb the hilarity of that statement.

*blink* *blink*  Ok, moving on…

In other totally important news, Koren has learned a new trick.  He can now pull the pacifier out of his mouth, waive it around, and put it back in.  This provides him with endless amusement until he drops the paci and the world pretty much crashes down around our ears.

He drops the paci a lot.

And for that reason, the jury is still out on whether this new trick should be lauded or cursed.

And on the Kaelin homefront, I would just like to say that my daughter says some pretty funny stuff when she’s not really awake.  Last night I heard her calling, and when I walked into her room we had this conversation:

Kaelin: I.. I … I … I need … I need… I need … (sometimes she has trouble getting the words out when she’s sleepy, so I’ll spare you the additional 12 times she said that) I need da pee on the phjvgch.
Mama: You need … to pee on the potty?
Kaelin: No, I need the pattern.
Mama: You need the pattern?
Kaelin: Yes.
Mama: What pattern?
Kaelin: The flag pattern.  I need the flag pattern.
Mama: …
Kaelin: I need the flag pattern.
Mama: Is… that something you did at school?
Kaelin: Yes.
Mama: I think you’re dreaming.  Why don’t you go back to sleep?
Kaelin: Ok.

Kaelin is sooo cute. This is my favorite age for kids because they’re just learning to talk & are so candid; it’s probably the only time in our lives where we can get away with saying the brutal truth about anything.
Koren sounds like he’s well on his way to being an entertainer like his big sister.

About McCain, sigh, I know this is extreme, but last night I got about 5 hours sleep. I woke up thinking about the election, worrying. Because they are saying so many bad things about Obama. I really wish there were a law that political ads have to be truthful, or fully disclosing… whatever words it takes to get politicians to stick to facts.
If Obama loses because people make an educated decision, fine. But if he loses because of outright lies, that’s not fine at all.

I wouldn’t worry too much about Obama.  Personally, I think he’s going to win by a landslide, and I have thought that ever since I saw McCain vie for and get the Repub nomination.

See, we’ve entered a new era of politics – one in which the politicians don’t own the information.  I’m not going to credit Obama with bringing in that change, but he recognizes it, while McCain doesn’t.  McCain has admitted that he doesn’t get the internet, but what he doesn’t understand is that the rest of the country DOES.  We have access to information now that previous voters didn’t, like resources for fact-checking voting records and every statement these guys make.

It’s no secret to anyone, except perhaps the purposefully uninformed, that McCain has pretty much ruined his reputation as a straight shooter.  And I think that is going to hugely hurt him in the election, because who wants a president they can’t trust, one that will just say anything with complete disregard to the truth?  I know there will always be staunch “party voters” but the independents are going to lean heavily toward Obama this time around.

    /End political prediction opinion.

I’m a registered Independent… well I’m officially an “I decline to state my political party,” but had McCain won in ‘00, I seriously would have considered voting for him then. I liked who he was, he was kind of in the middle. What W did to him was horrible. But him knowing how being slandered feels, yet doing it to someone else speaks volumes of how he’s changed; I wish he hadn’t.
You’re right about the internet. I’m thankful for the younger generation & it’s not a “party” I care about, but seriously I’m worried about our country & what we’re leaving for our kids & grandkids.

About Me

Hi. I'm Amy. I started this website in 2005 as a place to deposit my journal and photos. It has gone through a few incarnations and masquerades as a family site, but since I'm the only one who contributes to it, it's really all about ME, ME, ME.
