Kaelinisms: Issues and Singing Edition

I’ve mentioned before about Kaelin’s love of shoes.  During “Doughnuts with Dad” this past Saturday, she made friends with the doughnut store owner.

DSO: Wow, those are some pretty shoes.  Can I have your shoes?
Kaelin: No.
DSO: What if I gave you a free chocolate milk – then could I have your shoes?
Kaelin: No.  I already have juice.
DSO: What if I gave you ALL the donuts in the store for free?  THEN could I have your shoes?
Kaelin: No.  They wouldn’t fit you.  And if I gave you my shoes, my mom might have issues.

Kaelin has volunteered to sing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” at a friend’s wedding reception this weekend.  I’m a little skeptical, knowing that a) she sings very quietly when people are watching, b) she’s likely to get shy and back out at the last second, and c) she only knows half the chorus.

But she’s very excited about the prospect of using a real microphone.

Mama: Kaelin, why don’t you tell Grandmommy and Grandpa what you’re doing at Andrea’s wedding?
Kaelin: I’m going to sing the Romeo and Juliet song with a microphone, HOW FUN IS THAT???

Also, my daughter is a goofball, in case you didn’t already know.  While fixing dinner tonight, I heard some rustling behind me.  I turned around and nearly tripped on this paper bag in the middle of the floor…

The Hunting Begins

We have officially entered the Easter Season.  Did you know Easter has a season?  It seems the egg hunts start earlier every year.

This particular occasion is our favorite annual Easter egg hunting tradition, in my parents’ neighborhood.  They always have the Easter Bunny, with whom Kaelin is eternally enamored.

Out of Town

Last weekend I had the opportunity to drive down to College Station for one of my dearest friends’ bridal shower.  It was fun to get away (even though it involved entirely too much driving for one day) and I really enjoyed seeing old friends.

Congratulations, Andrea!  I’m looking forward to the Big Day!

Playing in the Country

Kaelin got the opportunity to traipse around my cousin’s property and see the horses a couple weekends ago.  She thought the horses were really fascinating until she realized how big they are up close.  Sorry about the blurry pictures.

Spring is Here!

It’s not officially Spring in Dallas until one has logged in a trip to the Arboretum.  Check!

I’m finding that one of the challenges of having TWO kids is getting them both to look at the camera at the SAME TIME.

I’m showing you all these so that you can fully appreciate the effort I went to in order to get this shot:

At that point, Koren was pretty much done with the pictures, but Kaelin was game for a few more…

About Me

Hi. I'm Amy. I started this website in 2005 as a place to deposit my journal and photos. It has gone through a few incarnations and masquerades as a family site, but since I'm the only one who contributes to it, it's really all about ME, ME, ME.
