Birthday Cake

Friday was Kaelin’s birthday.  The day before, I made her cake according to her requested “puppy” theme: 

Kaelin is always eager to “help” when I do baking and/or decorating projects, so she got to do her own “cake decorating.” It was a well-intentioned project that, predictably, deteriorated into a mess and a sugar high:
