Under Construction

I just can’t handle the “pinky” tint in the background of this blog. However, because of the complexity of the template, I can’t just edit the background picture.

So I’m going to have to create a new template and transfer everything over.

Bear with me for a bit while this blog goes through the transformation. Things are likely going to look a little ugly for a while.

I’ve been in a “red” mood recently, so I think I’ll play around with that color scheme.

Dooce on the Radar

Doh. Dooce is coming to town and I can’t go.
I’ve never been much of a “gotta meet the celebrities” kind of gal. I don’t even care for concerts.
But I am a little disappointed that I won’t be able to meet this funny, charming online personality and her family that I have grown to know and love over the past year.

A Kaelin by Any Other Name

It has come to my attention recently that anonymity on the internet is a very valuable thing, particularly as a working woman in a business with thousands of “clients” accross the nation…who for some reason often HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO than to GOOGLE or YAHOO SEARCH ME.

I am one of three principal employees in this company and apparently they feel the need to know more about me. Many of them have found my personal website, which doesn’t particularly bother me, but I’m a little less comfortable sharing my daily thoughts and opinions with these folks.

So henceforth, I will refrain from using names.   To represent the major players of this blog, the following pseudonyms will heretofor be used:

[Artist formerly known as my husband]: J
[Artist formerly known as my daughter]: Little Button, Button, LB, etc.

Space Trip

Today I am a waste. There’s something that happens when it gets slow at work…it just fries my brain. Then when things do come up I find myself incapable of being productive.

I have spent the last 6 hours “playing” with blogs. Trying to convince myself that learning HTML is a valuable and beneficial part of my job function. And now I have no brain.

Trying to pull. myself. together.

Gewwwwwwwgle

I have officially had two people find my blog by doing a Google search for “ewwwwwww”

That is too cool.

Hope the food is good

Somebody found my blog by doing a Google search for “dietitions involved in jamies school dinners.” I do believe that’s the most random search result I’ve ever gotten.

Several people have found me by searching for the “Cantoni Cuddle Lounge” or for “Labhaoise pronunciation” but those make sense. I can’t think of a time when I’ve ever discussed Dietitions or Jamie’s School Dinners.

Go figure.

A New Year, a New Fad

Filed under: Blogging — Amy @ 7:52 am

I have just discovered this fad called Blogging, where one writes a semi-daily account of one’s activities and reflections on life. I went running into Jamie’s office (my coworker) to share my newfound discovery and was confronted by the fact that apparently it’s all the rage and I’m the only person in the entire world who hadn’t participated in it thus far.

Since I’m all for trying out new things – and since this fad seems less painful than piercing or kickboxing – I decided to start one and see how it goes…although I have to admit I’ve never really considered my daily life momentous enough to write about.

If there is anyone else out there who has been living in a dungeon over the past year, and is wondering what the heck I’m talking about, some example blogs that entertain me daily are Joi and This Fish. Feel free to check them out.

Actually, from what I hear, blogging was a fad in 2004. Sooo last year. But since it’s new to me, I still want to try it. So here I go again, attaching myself to the world of “cool” and “in” just a hair too late. Or in this case, a year too late. One day “almost cool” will be fashionable and then I’ll be set.

About Me

Hi. I'm Amy. I started this website in 2005 as a place to deposit my journal and photos. It has gone through a few incarnations and masquerades as a family site, but since I'm the only one who contributes to it, it's really all about ME, ME, ME.
